Advanced Apprenticeship SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Location(s): Liverpool Bay, Flintshire, GB, N/A RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd., Liverpool Bay full time, fixed term Functional area: Apprenticeship; Engineering Remuneration: PC Join the RWE renewables team on the Advanced Apprenticeship Offshore Wind Scheme as a SCADA Engineer responsible for SCADA and Communications. A role exists at our Gwynt Y Mor Offshore Wind Farm Site which will entail working across our portfolio of sites and doing associated projects. We are looking for an engineer with some experience in SCADA and or communications infrastructure, with either an ONC or equivalent wanting to develop their skills further to HNC\Degree level in SCADA. If you are seeking development and want a career in the renewable energy sector this could be the role for you. The scheme is a two year scheme, in which your technical and interpersonal skills will be developed. RWE would develop your technical skills to either HNC\Degree level, while giving site experience and relevant projects We will provide training so that you can: Provide 2nd and 3rd Layer support for the communication and SCADA systems on our Offshore infrastructure (HV&AUX Scada (Substation) and WTG Scada) across our operational Offshore Windfarms Troubleshoot relevant systems in case of failure and coordinate our suppliers and stakeholders. Manage Root Cause Analysis and Monitoring & Control infrastructure failures and malfunctions so that you can give detailed engineering solutions and remedies Design new solutions responding to Operational Requirements and Optimize SCADA and communication systems Manage associated systems life expectancy and coordinate the actions for their life extension (upgrades, refreshes, replacements) Create manuals, troubleshooting guides, and learn about our engineering documentation so we can manage our system better. Participate in the Company Global Cyber Security policies and improve site processes and coordinate any actions resulting from them Be an active member of our team in which knowledge, experience, successes and lessons learnt are continuously shared Enable good working relationship and knowledge exchange with other teams within the renewables business Your profile A person with some experience, can be limited, on SCADA and or communication infrastructure, seeking further development. Some qualifications could be ONC or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Experience in some of the most used Industrial Communication Protocols (OPC-family, IEC-104, Modbus and MMS) would be beneficial but not essential Knowledge in Communication Systems commonly used in Offshore Windfarms (Tetra, VHF, 4G, 5G IP Telephony) would be beneficial but not essential. Experience in carrying out risk analysis and its mitigation plans would be beneficial but not essential A capability to handle multiple assignments as needed and plan them dependent on project priority Willingness to work offshore, travel and motivation to travel across the UK to improve SCADA systems and our Sites Good communication and interpersonal skills Willing to develop and improve. rwe.com/career with just a few clicks: ad code 82929, application deadline 08/09/2023 .
