You’ll have time to immerse yourself in the IT department. As an Applications Support Apprentice, you will be key to helping to support Bracknell Forest Council staff in the use of business applications. At the same time, we’ll make sure you have all the training and support you need to get your career with us off to a flying start. What it's like working in our team... The team work closely together to make sure we are providing the best support to the Bracknell Forest Council staff to help them support Bracknell Forest residents. Sometimes the work is challenging however there is also time for finding creative solutions and every day is different. The right applicant will be part of a team of 5 Application Support Officers who support multiple applications across 5 directorates. You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training... Understand how the application/service operates to professional standards of quality and performance in terms of stability, availability, and security, along with liaison with external suppliers and the provision of technical advice and guidance. Work with the team to gain and understand and put in to practise the standardised and appropriate planning, testing and implementation of application/infrastructure releases, form design and configuration changes, in line with business priorities and supplier roadmaps. Understand and comply with all standard procedures and processes and contribute to review and updating of those procedures and processes as required or requested. Learn and understand how the effectiveness of existing processes and practices within own area of work in order to help identify and implement opportunities for change and innovation and enable continuous improvement. Work with other technical staff in ICT and Digital services as designated and as required for the delivery of the role. Applications Support Apprenticeship Alongside your job role you will undertake the Applications Support Level 4 apprenticeship. Your learning will be a combination of classroom-based sessions, one to one support with a workplace coach and on the job learning and will last for approximately 2 years. At the end of the programme you will complete an end point assessment and when this is successfully completed you will gain your Applications Support Level 4 qualification. Working in partnership with the Council and the training provider you will learn and demonstrate the skills and behaviours required to successfully meet the apprenticeship standard. You will collect a folder of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and skills over the 24 months. Whilst studying for your apprenticeship you will be supported by a workplace coach and at the end of your apprenticeship, we will work with you to see if we can identify and secure a permanent position for you in Bracknell Forest council.
