Reporting to the Senior Clinical Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing bed occupancy for emergency admissions, to include safe and appropriate patient placement and the effective use of beds linked with planned and projected discharges. To successfully achieve capacity-related Trust performance and quality targets, the Clinical site management Team will provide on-site cover 24-hour a day, seven days per week. Effectively managing capacity and demand is pivotal to this role, therefore You will be expected to develop and implement robust and efficient plans that ensure achievement of Trust-wide goals. To achieve this, the individual will need to possess the skills and experience to identify and implement contingency plans to resolve short-term conflicts. The post of Clinical Site Manager is integral to the delivery of safe, effective, consistent and high quality admission and discharge services for patients and their carer’s, and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, will beinstrumental in promoting clinical excellence and best practice across the Trust. To provide a flexible team approach to ensuring there is a smooth, efficient and effective operational/bed management service covering 24 hour a day, 7 days week. Provide support, advice and direction to clinical ward teams, which will empower them to be pro-active in the management of patients in relation to the management of patient admission, length of stay and discharge from hospital. Maintain an accurate and contemporaneous bed state at all times. Ensure that all patients have a positive journey working in collaboration with the Senior Clinical Site Manager and ward based staff to ensure a sustainable flow of new admissions are allocated an appropriate inpatient bed. The Clinical Site Manager provides support to the SCSM in the leadership and managerial presence on the Hospital Site. They will provide immediate response to emergency incidents across the site to safeguard patients, carers, relatives and employee safety. They take a lead in managing and coordinating emergency situations, liaising with the matrons and SCSM to bring incidents to a safe conclusion. You will support the Senior Clinical Site Manager as they act as Silver Commander until relieved Through role modelling and constructive challenge, promoting a culture of flexibility, engagement and willingness within clinical areas to own problems that affect the quality of patient experience with regard to a patient’s journey from admission to discharge. Keep abreast of current developments and future trends in relation to the management of patient flow, disseminating and presenting information to colleagues as required. Utilise this information by liaising with the Senior Clinical Site Manager giving updates on pending referrals to speciality, patient pathways and potential delays. Offer support to the Emergency department; assisting with delays by escalating to the appropriate individual in order expedite blockages to the patient flow. Working with the Transfer of care team and Discharge lounge to facilitate safe, effective discharges.
