Contract type: Fixed term for 12 months in the first instance Hours: Full-time (some hybrid working possible) About the role We are looking to recruit to the position of Collections Governance and Quality Manager for the Oxford Radcliffe Biobank (ORB) and the Oxford Centre for Histopathology Research (OCHRe). This is an important role requiring excellent organisational and management skills, which requires the post holder to work flexibly and be able to adapt to changing priorities. You will have responsibility for strategic management of the Oxford Radcliffe Biobank (ORB) including satellite collections (ORBlets) and the Oxford Centre for Histopathology Research (OCHRe). You will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, but some remote working can be agreed with your line manager. The post holder will work closely with the ORB-Hub Biobank Manager and the leads for the ORBlet collections, to provide a comprehensive, quality-driven service, with appropriate infrastructure. Your main responsibilities will include governance and quality oversight of the laboratory service and biobank. You will be a key senior member of the team. One of the key challenges will be to work towards implementing a streamlined application process and workflow, and innovative initiatives. You will co-ordinate REC applications as needed. The post-holder will be responsible to Dr Richard Colling, Chief Investigator of ORB, Clinical Lead for OCHRe and Honorary Consultant in Cellular Pathology at OUH. About you You will be educated to at least undergraduate degree level and will have experience of working in research laboratory or clinical laboratory settings. You will have an understanding or experience of management and governance in running laboratories and biobanks, and have knowledge of HTA regulations. Experience in histopathology would be useful but is not mandatory. This full-time post is available immediately and is fixed term for 12 months in the first instance, with a view to extending this if funding permits.
