We are seeking a skilled Communications Manager to join our fundraising and communications team. This opportunity will primarily revolve around content creation to share the impactful outcomes of their work, nurturing press and media relations, and co-ordinating digital marketing including the management of social media channels and email newsletters. The role also includes management of some internal communications channels. This role adopts a hybrid approach, requiring a presence in the office for a minimum of three days per week. The incoming Communications Manager will play an essential role in implementing the new Communications Strategy for identified target audiences. And by collaborating closely with colleagues in fundraising, you will support delivery of the Fundraising Strategy. The postholder will identify compelling stories and generate content to raise awareness and inspire support. You will craft content for Thames Reach's website, newsletters, and other communication avenues, respond to inquiries from journalists and other media contacts, and compose press releases. This is an exciting opportunity to take charge of steering social media communications, working with the team to develop a social media strategy and working in collaboration with an external digital marketing consultant. To thrive in the role of Communications Manager, you will have experience of crafting, editing, and proofreading content suitable for diverse media platforms, and proficiency in managing an organisation’s digital communications. It would be ideal if you have an understanding of, or interest in, current affairs and their potential implications for the organisation. Lastly, a compassionate understanding or an eagerness to develop expertise in sensitive communication regarding individuals in vulnerable circumstances, with a dedicated focus on amplifying voices, is key for someone wanting to do this role.
