Lincolnshire County Council has 4 permanent full time (37 hours) vacancies for Community Care Officers (CCOs). The CCO post provides an excellent opportunity to begin or further your career in Social Care. Within our teams we offer a friendly and supported environment. We love to see our community care officers to learn and progress. You will gain invaluable experience within a highly professional Adult Care Team, covering the East of Lincolnshire. We have vacancies in the Skegness, Boston, and Market Rasen Teams (the Market Rasen Team is based in the Louth Office). About the role: You will have a varied and interesting role, which requires partnership working with other agencies across the Health, Housing, and the Voluntary Sector. We are looking for a confident individual to carry out strengths-based Adult Needs Assessments and Reviews which, in line with the Care Act 2014; focus on what the person can do rather than their limitations, so that we can work with the person to maximize their independence. This will involve assessing Mental Capacity, managing identified risks, and considering any informal support available. A social work qualification or registration is not necessary, and training will be given. About the Teams: Skegness, Boston and Market Rasen are very busy Adult Care Teams, all comprising of a Lead Practitioner, Social Workers, and Community Care Officers, who all have a wide range of skills and experience. Each team covers a large geographical area, with a mixed demographic. Since the COVID pandemic we have operated a blended approach of office and home working. Home visits and visits to care homes will also be required. About You: The CCO role is demanding, and it is important that we recruit the right people; therefore, you must be motivated and enthusiastic, and possess the following skills and qualities: Dynamic flexible individual who can work autonomously and demonstrate good time management. Positivity, a can-do attitude, and a willingness to learn. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good IT skills as assessments are recorded electronically. Good listener, demonstrate that you are actively listening. Creative-thinking and good problem-solving skills. Prior knowledge of the Care Act 2014 would be useful.
