Role of the Community Outreach Officer In this new role, the Community Outreach Officer will develop a new community outreach programme. Aiming to further grow the club’s relationship with local organisations and groups along with attracting new supporters and becoming the club of choice in the surrounding area. The focus will be on establishing a formal network of associated community groups, grassroots clubs and schools. This programme will help to develop the club’s reputation locally and attract and retain fans. The Community Outreach Officer will work with others across the club and with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust to design and deliver the programme throughout the season. The role will also include working as part of the Fan and Community Relations team on various club events including supporting work on matchdays. It is envisaged that this will be a full-time role, but it may also suit someone who would prefer slightly reduced hours across the week. Evening and weekend work each week will be standard. Main Accountabilities Lead on the development of the club’s community outreach programme and the identification and achievement of key measures of success for the programme. Design and deliver the benefits package for members of the programme – this will likely include player visits, tickets, coaching support. Build personal relationships with community groups to enhance the reputation of the club locally through regular communication and in-person visits. Manage and develop a database of members. Attend community groups and local organisations meetings to establish and build lasting relationships. Lead on the management of community ticket requests and support the planning and delivery of matchday community events. Support the Fan & Community Relations team on matchdays to ensure we deliver a welcoming and enjoyment matchday experience at the club for all fans (including potential new fans and away supporters). Support other Fan & Community Relations projects and activities as required, including fan events and matchdays throughout the season. Experience and confidence in working with schools, community groups and local football clubs. Excellent teamworking and collaboration skills. Good understanding of the local area. Good problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with difficult issues with a logical and sensitive approach. A good understanding of the football industry. You should be service-minded, ensuring that all organisations involved have a positive experience with us. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to support key community outreach priorities and matchdays, as required. Person Specification - Desirable Characteristics Previous work experience in a similar role within a football club, sports organisation or other community group. Good knowledge of Microsoft products, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Holding a driving licence will be beneficial.Jobs Advertisement
