Job descriptionThe Women's & Child Health Division is looking to appoint a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with an interest in Fertility. We are looking for a dynamic and passionate consultant who can work in our large team of consultants in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with an interest in fertility, covering all standard elements of the role. The successful candidate will join a team of 33 consultant obstetricians and gynaecologists who are divided into teams to provide continuity for high-risk women. The Queen's Labour ward currently has 104 hours of consultant presence throughout the week. A complement of junior doctors also provides 24-hour cover and training is undertaken through the London Deanery. The successful candidate will contribute to the fertility services at Queen’s Hospital. The duties will include a wide range of on-call, labour ward, gynaecology emergency, outpatient clinic and theatre commitments. For further details please refer to the job description. More than half of our 7,500 strong workforce are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and most live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. The pandemic provided the drive for our teams to innovate and change. We know we have more work to do to improve waiting times for urgent and emergency care, and our performance against the four-hour emergency access standard remains challenged, in comparison to many other London trusts. We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital.
