Project Background Our customer is developing a waste tyre recovery project in Sunderland, UK to produce low-carbon maritime and road transportation fuels and recovered carbon black (rCB). The project is being developed to live up to our sustainability mission, and we are proving that a circular economy is good for both the environment and our economy. The plant in full operation is capable of processing around 80,000 tonnes per year of end-of-life car and truck tyre material. Every year it will avoid the pollution of landfilling or incinerating of these tyres and the operations of the plant will eliminate the emission of 1,800,000 tons of CO2 over its lifetime. At the same time, it will produce useful low callow-carbon bond fuels for maritime and road transportation, as well as recovered carbon bl, ack to be recycled into the tyre manufacturing process. The project is based on a customer-proprietary configuration developed with its partners. An ambitious ongoing technology development program will ensure that the plant continues benefiting from the latest technology improvements. Job Purpose We are seeking a Cost Engineer to support the Wastefront Project. In this role, you will contribute to the financial efficiency and overall performance of the project ensuring that costs are meticulously tracked throughout project delivery. Your responsibilities will encompass both cost estimation for project modifications and the organization of cost-related data for the administration of key performance indicators. Key Responsibilities: Collaborating with project stakeholders to prepare accurate time-writing codes for new projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. Monitoring non-billable time within the project team, applying your expertise to maintain these within the agreed overhead charge limits. Maintaining an up-to-date record of costs for each project, diligently tracking both incurred and liable costs, and providing regular status updates to relevant stakeholders. Fostering effective communication with the corporate team, ensuring timely billing of man-hour costs and supporting efficient financial processes. Employing your analytical skills to prepare P50 cost estimates for project modifications, contributing to informed decision-making and resource allocation. Leveraging historical data and your keen insight to collate cost norms, drawing from experience to inform current and future projects. Requirements Must have : Graduate engineer or equivalent qualification. Experience in engineering design service contracts. Knowledge of both greenfield and brownfield estimating methodology. Minimum 5 years, in both greenfield and brownfield industrial or engineering projects, with at least 2 years in the oil and gas sector. Familiar with the administration of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Computer proficiency. Nice to have: Qualification in Business Management.
