Contract: Permanent, part time Salary: £21,000 - £22,000 per annum pro rata (£15,000 - £15,715 per annum for 25 hours) Location: Burford with hybrid working, OX18 4PF Closing date: Wednesday 6 September 2023 Interview date: 15 & 19 September 2023 We’re recruiting for a Customer Care Officer to join our wonderful animal charity based in the Cotswolds. Our Customer Care team manage the relationship with each of our supporters, without whom our charity could not exist. More about the role As a Customer Care Officer, you will be providing advice and information services, as well as a sympathetic ear, to supporters and members of the public on a variety of issues which could be anything from information about Blue Cross and our services, to wider animal care and welfare issues. On occasion you will be supporting clients who may be distressed or need additional support through telephone and face to face queries in a calm, professional and friendly manner. The ability to assess the appropriate solutions for their pets and adapt to a variety of our client’s needs and communications styles is an integral responsibility of the role. You will have a genuine desire to improve the lives of pets and their clients and be proactive in the promotion and delivery of Blue Cross aims. This is a part time role of 25 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 9am till 2pm. About you The ideal candidate for this role is someone that has great communication skills and able to speak to a wide variety of people and used to working in a busy office or call centre environment. The role of a Supporter Care Officer can involve supporting clients that are distressed, therefore, you will be able to work in an emotionally charged environment and have excellent ‘bounce back ability’ and resilience, with ability to keep calm under pressure and re-prioritise tasks where needed. This person will be emotionally intelligent, showing empathy and knowing how to support clients and colleagues. Knowledge, skills, and experience Customer service experience within a busy office or call centre environment The ability to multi-task and demonstrable experience of responding to a high volume of telephone and email enquiries A calm, confident telephone manner Demonstrable resilience and experience of dealing with distressed and angry enquirers Excellent keyboard skills, knowledge of Windows and MS Office and the ability to learn and navigate multiple IT systems Experience of handling complaints Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal The ability to self-manage while working collaboratively as part of a team The ability to demonstrate, understanding and apply our Blue Cross values Desirable knowledge, skills, and experience An understanding of basic animal welfare Previous experience of a busy hospital/clinic environment Experience working with appointment booking systems.
