Job Title: IT Environment manager Target Start Date: 01/09/2023 Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time, Full Time, Job Share option available Salary Range: Competitive Location: Eastleigh (Hybrid, 2x month) Work Level: WL4 Environment manager: We have an exciting opportunity to join Ageas in this newly created role as an IT Environment Manager supporting our IT Delivery Services department. As an IT Environment Manager you will be responsible for the availability and operation of all non-production environments pertaining to the overall Ageas Change Portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Delivery Services, this role will initially focus on bringing existing environments under control. The next phase will involve standardising practices whilst operating the service. The ongoing remit will be service optimisation and operation Main Responsibilities as an IT Environment manager: Analysing the environment requirements for current and upcoming work Forecasting future levels of environment demand to permit capacity planning Defining environment roadmap Ensuring planned and funded environment capacity is available on time Coordinating activities necessary for the successful build, configuration and operation of environments Coordinating tests of the environments after they are built or changed Ensuring delivered environments are maintained and available to agreed standards Ensuring environments are adequately protected by back-up and other necessary measures Ensuring the use of automation where appropriate in the provisioning and operation of environments to provide efficiency, speed and repeatability Plan and oversee the roll-out of infrastructure changes and supporting code changes so that they do not unnecessarily disrupt environment use Scheduling the use and configuration of environments. Alerting if conflicts or delays and taking action to mitigate these should they occur Establish configuration management tools and procedures Ensuring configuration management disciplines are fully applied across all activities Ensure security policies and standards compliance Coordinate with 3rd parties that supply services that form part of our non-production environments Skills and experience you need as an IT Environment manager: Established knowledge of environment management challenges Experience of coordinating work involving multidisciplinary teams to build or change environments Experience of different delivery methodologies including Agile and Waterfall across the full range of business areas including Digital, Contact Centre and Back Office Can evidence experience of working in IT service management or in a role that would have given to extensive exposure to IT service management practices.
