Job description Aughton Early Years Centre Main Street Aughton Sheffield S26 3XH Tel: 0114 2872530 Hours: Full year 37 hours per week (not term time only) Contract: Permanent Applications are invited for the above post to take effect as soon as possible. We are looking for an enthusiastic Family Support Worker who will be a dedicated team member within our Children’s Centre and the wider South, Early Help and Family Engagement 0-19 Service. The successful applicant will provide practical help and advice to support families and their children to achieve their full potential. The service builds on the family's strengths and offers support as problems begin to emerge to prevent issues from getting worse, leading to higher level statutory services becoming involved. The service at the Centre supports families primarily with children aged 0-5 years and works with the whole family in partnership, to identify the best possible solutions to issues that they might be experiencing. The Family Support Worker will have the skills and experience to work with children and their families with additional needs that may be either within a statutory arena (i.e. co-worked with Children’s Social Care) or, are at risk of escalation into high-level statutory services. Successful candidates will have experience in managing a caseload of children and families and be able to effect positive change with the family to reduce risk and need. At Aughton Early Years Centre, we are committed to an integrated service delivery for children and families, the successful applicant will be expected to work in a holistic way with very young children. The Centre is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and the successful candidate will have to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Check (formerly a CRB) and online searches will be conducted. Applicants must have the following: Minimum of Level 3, NVQs Level 3, Applied A Levels, BTEC First Certificates and Diplomas, City and Guilds Advanced Craft Part 3, or NQF Level 4 Certificates of Higher Education, Or Evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience The capability to demonstrate positive, high quality interactions with young children A flexible and committed approach and a willingness to be fully involved in all Centre aims and objectives The ability to build and maintain positive, effective relationships with children, families and colleagues Excellent communication skills and have the desire to work as a proactive member of a complex team Interviews will be held on Friday 8th September 2023.
