Hours: 37 per week Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31/05/2025 Service Area: Regeneration & Housing Department: Business Growth Following a successful pilot, Bath and North East Somerset Council (B&NES) are re-launching the Employment and Skills POD as part of the West of England Combined Authority’s (the Combined Authority) new Skills Connect service , to enable us to work in partnership with other key organisations to provide information, advice, guidance. training and upskilling opportunities to the residents of Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES). As an Information, Advice and Guidance Officer you will support B&NES residents who are currently at risk of redundancy, have been made redundant, are unemployed or looking to upskill and progress into more sustainable and higher paid careers. The role will require working with colleagues across the B&NES region as part of an Employment and Skills POD. The postholder would be expected to: Support Bath & North East Somerset residents who are currently in work to progress into more sustainable and higher paid careers Work with partners and identify residents who meet their criteria Work with partners to identify what support would enable the residents that they are working with to progress Ensure that the outcomes of the POD are achieved and reported to Project Lead Create action plans for job seeking residents To identify any wrap around support services which could address barriers to progression available from partners internally and externally Ensure constructive feedback is supplied to service users and, where appropriate, provide skills coaching Make accurate and timely uploading of information to maintain the CRM system (database) of contacts, progression and outcomes against KPI’s for reporting and evaluation of outcomes. Applicants should have operational and caseload experience and hold a relevant professional qualification and/or equivalent experience. Applicants will have the authority and credibility to build relationships and engage successfully with service users, colleagues, external organisations and employers. Applicants will need to have excellent problem-solving skills and will need excellent verbal, written and numeracy and ICT skills. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously and remotely with a minimum 2 days in the office or working with partners. Consideration will also be given to candidates seeking a secondment opportunity. Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.
