We have opportunities for Shift Operations Engineers at Dungeness B, a defueling Nuclear Power Station, where you will have the opportunity to build a highly desirable and transferable skill set in the growth area of Nuclear Decommissioning. With planning and construction of new Nuclear Power Stations underway, and our extensive training programme, this is also a strong foundation from which to go on and build a career within Nuclear Generation. The Opportunity We are currently seeking well motivated, enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join one of the five operations shift teams responsible for safe and reliable operation of the station. The successful candidates will enter the EDF Operations Engineer Training Programme to become a Reactor Desk Engineer, an exciting and highly responsible development opportunity for the right candidate. Pay, benefits and culture Your starting salary will be in platform 1, ranging from £40,069 - £60,826, moving into platform 2 once qualified as a Duly Authorised person which starts from £54,391 plus a shift working allowance. What you’ll be doing Following the training period and formal Authorisation as both a Senior Authorised Person and a Duly Authorised Person, you’ll be responsible for the safe and compliant operation of a reactor and its associated systems as part of a Central Control Room team in accordance with relevant statutory requirements. Periods of time will also be spent on days in the safety document office as part of the team producing safety documents to support safe maintenance of the plant. You’ll also be required to participate in the Emergency Scheme. Who you are You’ll ideally hold an HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant technical subject and experience in an Operations environment may be an advantage, although not essential. Personally, you’ll have a flexible and proactive approach to work, as well as a positive attitude towards continuous improvement both as an individual and team player.
