Job description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified person with planning policy experience to join Hammersmith and Fulham Council as a Planning Policy Officer. Our Development Planning Team use high-level plan making skills to deliver regeneration across the borough. You’ll work on spatial planning projects across Hammersmith & Fulham, helping to provide new and updated planning policy guidance, and other policy and Local Plan focussed projects. As part of this role, you will also be required to provide specialist advice to the Development Management team on policy matters for pre-application and strategic/major applications, in particular helping to discharge the Council’s statutory duties in relation to flood risk on all development sites. You will need good written and oral communication skills and be able work collaboratively both within the organisation and with external organisations. We also need people who are proactive and creative in the face of a challenge and are motivated by the search for a solution. We have a supportive management team to help nurture our staff and this job presents an opportunity to develop a range of planning skills including policy writing, project management, negotiation as well as mentoring skills.
