Our mission is to push the boundaries of complex cell analysis. Using the Lightcast platform we are working with major pharmaceutical companies and leading academic institutes. Together, using our next generation microfluidic platform, we are making advances towards new science, unique clinical approaches, new therapies and innovative products. The Lightcast platform allows precise and highly flexible independent control of thousands of microdroplets independently and in parallel using software-generated light patterns. By combining droplets containing different cells, antibodies, cancer drugs, reporters and /or other reagents we can perform complex workflows and assays with a flexibility far beyond what is currently possible on any cell analysis platform. About the role 2022 was a big year for us, but 2023 is going to be even bigger! We have lots of exciting things on the horizon - with our product launch set for later in the year and our continuing growth plans. Our Commercial team is set to grow significantly, including establishing our product management team. The platform we're developing is unique and has potential to change lives. Everyone at Lightcast makes an impact! This is a brand-new and pivotal role in our Commercial team, reporting into our Director of Marketing. You will take the lead in product management across the company, acting as the go to person in the team. The company is currently in advanced stages of development of a highly innovative bio-tools instrument, with an expected high consumable pull-through and high levels of recurring revenue from software, science service and support, which requires product ownership and management to prepare for a launch. The ideal candidate would have a science (ideally biology) background with an extensive track record in product management, preferably in the bio-tools space. You will be responsible for the breadth of Product management tasks detailed below and not be afraid to roll your sleeves up as well as contribute to strategic discussions. You will act as the champion for Product Management, bringing together insights from both internal and external stakeholders in order to shape the marketing direction of the platform, becoming the voice of the customer within Lightcast. We are committed to the professional development of our people and, as such, you will be mentoring other members of the Commercial team to further their understanding of the work or Product Management.. As the role involves working closely with our site-based team, you will work from our new offices in Cambridge with some ad-hoc remote working possible. Your responsibilities will include Product management across the company (and co-ordinating with development, biology, software and application functions) including: Instruments Microfluidic consumables Reagents Assay kits Software products Develop and maintain user requirements Act as Product Owner across the products Understand customer needs and customer personas Maximise the product value to the customer Prioritise feature requirements and validation Co-ordinate with the support team on service products Develop pricing strategy, bundles, product structure, etc. Support Director of Marketing with strategic product marketing, including: Analyse and monitor competitors (acquisitions, pricing, new products/features) Positioning and pricing strategy Analyse and monitor industry trends Working with embryonic sales teams to coordinate efforts Liaising with the Lightcast academic program, applications program and biology team and collating customer and industry feedback to identify future market opportunities Support the product launch, including: Input to launch event(s) Communications The role would report to the Director of Marketing.
