Role: Quality Engineer Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Excellent Benefits Location: West Sussex, Brighton, Bognor Regis, Worthing area. We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a busy mechanical manufacturing business based around the West Sussex, Brighton, Bognor Regis, Worthing area. Other key duties include; Responsible for all incoming quality inspections. Provides inspection activity for product throughout purchasing and production cycles. Works with Vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts for company use. Works with other departments (Sales/Production and Engineering), dealing with customer concerns regarding the quality of product. Manages the Calibration program. Works with Engineering on new projects to ensure the requirements are measurable and that Ram Pumps has the appropriate tools and equipment to carry out measurables and FAT testing. To fully understand the DMS, drawings, specification, and full scope of supply for each project. ITP Control through production and quality. Responsible for Co-ordinating the FAT test with the customers and third- party inspectors and dealing with all issues that may arise during the FAT. Managing and controlling quality standards within the production area and providing feedback on nonconformance or deviation. Conducting Internal audits on WOPS and working with the production team to create new WOPS when required. Assist in maintenance and updating in line with current legislation Health and Safety standards, promoting awareness and training throughout the organisation. PMI inspection Assist in resolving manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum rework costs and prevent delays in the delivery of the product to the customer. Responsible for testing all products in accordance with the customers approved testing procedures, defined in the DMS, in most cases all testing is witnessed by the customer and third-party inspectors. Goods Inwards Inspection, ensure product inspection takes place in a timely manner to verify conformance by outside vendors. Liaising with vendors on quality issues working with vendors to an early resolve. Establish clearly defined Work Operating Procedures for all workshop disciplines and methods, setting out an internal audit plan, internally auditing procedures on a regular basis. Identifying changes to procedures when required with relevant staff. Raise Non-conformance reports in a timely manner for all non-conformance activities, recording source, corrective and preventative actions, continual improvements, and cost of rework activity. Responsible for Calibration – In house and external ensuring all inspection and measuring equipment hold a current calibration procedure in accordance with QMS Procedure for calibration. Review of all Quality Documents and procedures for projects to ensure they are in line with project requirements. Making sure all paperwork is available and the ITP is stamped off through quality and production processes. Control and management of Quarantine goods. You… To be successful in the role as the Quality Engineer you’ll have the following skills and experience; Degree in Mechanical Engineering - Desirable Minimum of 5 years of work-related experience in performing the duties of this job Good understanding of ISO9001: 2015, ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018 management systems. Must be able to work independently as well as across all departments. Must possess good oral and written communication skills. Ability to plan, organise and manage multiple tasks.
