Job description

Our client an international company is looking to recruit a research officer who has an agricultural background. The role involves visiting farms and collecting data. Applicants must be able to use Excel spreadsheets, have a head for numbers and enjoy working with data. Full training is provided. You don't need to have any prior experience just a willingness to learn and a knowledge of British agriculture.You need to have strong communication skills (oral and written). In addition you require very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word as well as a high level of accuracy and numeracyDuties:To collect farm business account data and information in a range of formats (e.g. hard copy invoices, cheque books, bank statements, farm accounts packages)Produce a fully balanced electronic account of their business on an annual basis Interview farmers and gain additional information related to their business, and farming and land management activities, for example their business management practices, agri-environmental activities and water usageUndertake travel to and from farms and farm business offices in undertaking the range of tasks required to perform the role fully.Experience required:Good general knowledge and understanding of British Agriculture and the ability to appreciate the difficulties and issues faced by farmers and growers in the UKWilling to learn about accounting principlesGood knowledge of farm business managementJob Type: PermanentSalary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per yearBenefits:FlexitimeSchedule:FlexitimeMonday to FridayNo weekendsSupplemental pay types:Bonus schemeExperience:agriculture: 3 years (required)Work Location: On the road
