Working Pattern: Days (37.5 hours per week, typical hours are 07:30 – 15:40 or 08:10 – 16:20) Location: Sellafield, West Cumbria (3 days in the office, 2 days from home. We have a number of Emergency Management roles available across our Security profession, including: Emergency Management Planner: The Emergency Management Planner performs planning and process development in one of three functional areas including; emergency planning, emergency drills/exercises and/or emergency facilities and equipment. The position is a support role and requires some management direction and guidance. This role contributes towards compliance with Site Licence Condition 11 (SLC11 Emergency Arrangements) which requires the site to have adequate emergency arrangements. Senior Emergency Management Planner: The Senior Emergency Management Planner is the lead contact for all emergency management matters at facility/operational-level. They perform planning and process development in up to three functional areas including emergency planning, emergency drills/exercises and/or emergency facilities and equipment so that the Operating Unit/Directorate/Organisation has the capability to respond to an emergency situation in an appropriate manner. As a member of the Emergency Management Team, you’ll be at the forefront of planning, preparing, and responding to a range of potential incidents. Your role will involve collaboration, leadership, and critical decision making to ensure a prompt and effective response, minimising risks and ensuring the well-being of all involved. Protective Security Manager: The Protective Security Manager provides professional security advice and guidance to Sellafield Ltd, ensuring that regulatory and company security requirements are identified and implemented so that the respective Value Streams and projects remain compliant against the Nuclear Industries Security Regulations (NISR) 2003 as amended and Nuclear Site Security Plan (NSSP). The Security Profession is one of diversity & opportunity. At present, there are almost 400 people employed within the teams & that figure is growing. There are numerous areas of speciality & opportunity, including: developing and maintaining strategic plans; delivering regulatory compliance; providing security vetting and pass issue for personnel; controlling physical access to the workplace; protecting our physical and cyber assets and driving the cultural change necessary to underpin Safe, Secure Site Stewardship. In addition, we have our emergency response capability, managing the Site Emergency Plan and Off-Site Emergency Plan, including Sellafield Fire & Rescue and our 24/7 Emergency Duty Teams, along with emergency planning to maintain our emergency preparedness. The Ideal Candidate: Essential Skills: Experience of playing an integral part in Emergency Management. Current emergency responder, member of an Emergency Management Organisation such as retained fire and rescue, mountain rescue etc.A high degree of organisation and planning skills of self and others to meet service delivery to time schedule and cost.Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills.Proven ability to think logically and analytically to resolve problems using a range of tools and techniques.Demonstrable evidence in planning and implementing emergency exercises/drills.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.SC Clearance or the ability to achieve, and a willingness to attain DV Clearance if needed.Experience in planning and process development which may include Emergency Planning.A degree of organisation and planning skills of self and others to meet service delivery to time schedule.Planning and presenting information to high standards.Self-confidence to work with facility operational teams, providing feedback to individuals and groups.Good stakeholder management skills in order to work effectively with all grades across the organisation and with external regulators. Desirable Skills: Good interpersonal skills.Experience of working in an operational plant or in a security type environment.Completion of CPNI Pathway training coursesExperience of leading, managing and developing a teamKnowledge of Sellafield Emergency Arrangements and/or experience of operational-level emergency preparedness/response (can be internal and/or external to Sellafield Site) i.e. been involved in an ACP, ICC or SECC Team as part of an exercise or real emergency, could also have been a member of an external emergency response organisation etc.Ability to deputise for colleagues.
