Mercer is looking for talented and ambitious analysts who are keen to further their career, focused on technical delivery of GMP Rectification projects that sit within the rapidly growing area of GMP Equalisation. This is an opportunity to join a great multi-disciplinary team supporting client teams in the delivery of projects to rectify and implement GMP changes. We are looking for individuals with excellent technical and excel skills alongside strong communication skills, adaptability and organisational skills. You will be working as part of a team to deliver GMP projects to clients (trustee and corporate). This role would be suitable for someone with excellent knowledge of UK Defined Benefit Pensions, alongside a strong understanding of Excel. What can you expect? Any differences between HMRC data and Scheme data will need to be corrected in line with the approach agreed between Mercer and the client. This will require: analysis of complex data to understand if the required data is readily available; working with stakeholders either to make assumptions on missing data or to fill the data gaps; once the data is complete the relevant calculations need to be undertaken using standard tools and processes to establish the correct benefits and any under / over payments due to be made to members; Communicating the results with stakeholders, including consultants and colleagues completing GMP calculations. Implementation of the changes required Support and assist with Managerial responsibilities as requested including M.I generation and People Management support. We will also require you to: Manage administrative and case management issues as well as data processing activities on a daily basis. Monitor project schedules to ensure timelines and deliverables are met; notify project manager or client if timelines are in jeopardy. Test and analyze pension data and systems during implementation and administration. Manage client data using variety of technical tools and resources. Manage client requests and processes. What you need to have: Significant technical experience of working in UK Defined Benefit pensions, calculation of retirement benefits and interaction of GMP within a Defined Benefit pension calculation. Significant experience of managing large data sets in Excel and experience of completing analysis work accurately. Experience of communicating technical issues relating to DB Benefit Calculations with Consultants and colleagues. Experience of producing bespoke Client reports, and the ability to prepare Client reports using available templates A willingness to learn new skills and be adaptable in a changing environment. Experience of reviewing / checking work completed by colleagues.
