Technician Register - Belfast School of Art Role: Technician Register Department: Belfast School of Art **Grade: **Business Support Technical Grade 5 - £13.32 per hour Responsible to: Head of the Belfast School of Art Campus: Belfast Belfast School of Art fosters innovation through learning in dynamic workshops and studios across a wide range of creative disciplines. We are currently seeking to create a Technician Register to fill short term vacancies that arise within the school. These roles will provide emergency cover and successful candidates may be called at short notice for an immediate start. Within this role you will support students and academics by providing in depth knowledge and understanding of technical aspects relevant a specific discipline. You will ensure that specialist equipment and work areas are available and maintained at all times and that health and safety responsibilities are upheld. The successful candidate must have: 1. A degree, foundation degree or NVQ4, or equivalent in subject relevant to their specialism. 2. Significant work experience relevant to one or more specialist disciplines required within the school. 3. Understanding of Health and Safety work practices relevant to the role. Areas of specialism Animation Ceramics Design Fashion and garment construction Fine art audio, photography and video Fine art printmaking Games design Knitted and constructed textiles and fashion Mouldmaking, casting and 3D form Silversmithing & jewellery Photography with video Printed and dyed textiles and fashion Textile art and embroidery Textile weave Audio-VisualWood & metal working Illustration Applications to the register will be held for a maximum period of 12 months.
