Delivering quality, easy to use, value for money services which meet users’ needs and GDS standards is essential to MMO meeting its aspirations to improve and modernise service provision to customers. This is a fast-paced delivery area covering continuous improvement enhancements to live services, alongside all development phases of new and evolving services. So, the number of live and developing digital services D&ITSM are responsible for is growing continuously. Working as part of the Digital and Service Management Team the Test Analyst will work across a variety of services, and with a cross section of internal MMO / Defra stakeholders (grades and roles), end users and external supplier development teams to perform user acceptance / regression testing. They will also sometimes need to take sole responsibility for testing and ensure that all testing criteria is met which will require them to; understand requirements, create test scripts, test across environments and to plan and development cycles. They will be responsible for providing feedback on their findings to deadline and for escalating issues where necessary to senior management. Key tasks, accountabilities and responsibilities Perform testing activities as directed by the HEO Test Manager Working with other teams and stakeholders Working with the Test Manager in delivering test activities Contribute to the test strategy and the approach of testing. Engage with the Test Manager in the creation and management of detailed test scenarios Contribute to the production detailed reports and metrics from the results of testing Development and maintenance of any test script repositories to ensure that they are fit for purpose Involvement in defect management and escalation of issues. This role works very closely with various teams and stakeholders across the MMO as well as DEFRA and other DEFRA group partners. Engagement with external suppliers and experts is also required to facilitate the testing of new releases and developments. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required Essential Experience of conducting IT testing - working as part of a test team and individually Producing test materials such as test scripts / scenarios, and feeding into plans, reports, and daily stand-ups Prioritising work efficiently and effectively Experience in engaging effectively with stakeholders across different internal and external organisations. Experience of using Microsoft Office applications to an intermediate level Desirable Working in an Agile environment Knowledge and experience of different testing tools and techniques (JIRA, DevOps etc) Qualifications Required Essential Minimum of 2 GCSE / O level equivalents (Maths and English) Desired IT-related qualifications Person specification Please refer to Job Description Benefits Alongside your salary of £25,726, Marine Management Organisation contributes £6,971 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
